Celebrating the Postal Strike

APWU Live is bringing together the men and women who were there — the strikers themselves — for a live, unscripted conversation about what they risked and what they want the next generation of postal workers to know.

APWU young members will join the call for a panel discussion with strikers, so that we can emphasize that this strike is not history, the fights these brave workers fought is still alive and a threat today. Postal workers pension, health coverage, and especially our right to bargain — all of it was won at this strike.

The APWU Difference

Who We Are

More than 200,000 postal, mail and logistics workers and retirees, in both the public and private sectors, united in one democratic, member-run union. We represent USPS crafts including Clerk, Maintenance, Motor Vehicle Service and Support Services, along with private-sector mail transport and logistics workers.

Our History

We fight for living wages, secure benefits and safe workplaces, and we defend the public Postal Service that binds every community, rural and urban, together. Our bargaining, legislative and community campaigns put people before profit, resist privatization and advance social and economic justice for all working families.

Join Us

The rights and benefits we enjoy today are because others stood together.

Together we have: raises we can count on each year, cost-of-living adjustments to keep our pay up with inflation, safer workplaces, and a real voice on the job. Whether you work for USPS or in a private mail or logistics shop, APWU membership gives you a voice and a union family that stands together.
